The Eco Chapter was born from a simple yet powerful idea: words shape reality.

Whether in climate storytelling, education, or brand activism, the way we communicate can deepen understanding, inspire action, and drive meaningful change.

Our Philosophy is simple:

In Service of The 3Ps: People, Planet, and Purpose

Through The 3Rs: Regeneration, Reeducation, Reimagination

To guide everything we do - from workshops to storytelling to strategic consulting, we frame our offerings around this powerful and intentional structure.

This framework helps us stay grounded in what matters most while offering practical, transformative support to those building a better world and want their words to reflect that.

Our goal is to empower, not create dependency.
We offer tools, training, and guidance that help you communicate with clarity and confidence, long after our work together ends.

We believe in good faith communication: honest, accessible, and aligned with your values.
No jargon. No overcomplication.

Just clear, thoughtful storytelling that regenerates, reeducates, and reimagines a better future, together.

Marla’s sustainability journey began long before it became a buzzword.

As a child, she tried to rescue every stray cat in her neighbourhood, often hiding them in the bathroom until her parents inevitably discovered them and called the SPCA.

A few lucky ones stayed, so did her sense of responsibility to the living world.

Marla began travelling on her own at a young age, fuelled by her need to witness nature’s grandeur and has seen wonders that many can only imagine.

Her deep love for the natural world led her to pursue a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science, followed by an MSc in Environmental Science.

She sought impactful work and so bought a one-way ticket to South America, where she spent several years volunteering and working with wildlife and marine conservation NGOs.

It was there she noticed a critical gap: language.

As an English speaker fluent in scientific jargon, she saw how often important environmental information remained inaccessible to the communities most affected by it.

This insight led her to become a trained English teacher and, in 2019, she founded The English Curve - an English language-based learning space with a global reach.

Her role as a Sustainability Manager in 2023 exposed another gap: the sometimes myopic thinking that dominates many sustainability solutions. The focus, often technical, detaching from the bigger picture.

She then founded The Eco Chapter to help changemakers communicate with purpose for the people around them and the planet they live in. Every one of us can use our words in service of the 3Ps: People, Planet, and Purpose.
Because we all use language, every day, in every decision we make.

She teaches the language, speaks the science, and understands the realities of the sustainability space.

Her focus is on supporting SMEs, non-profits, and purpose-driven organisations and individuals in navigating their sustainability journeys through regeneration, reeducation, and reimagination.
