The Eco Chapter

Hi! I’m Marla, the earthling running The Eco Chapter.

Language plays a big role in how we and others perceive the world.

Imagine if we stopped calling Earth earth, and called her Mother Earth instead? Imagine if we didn’t call minerals, coal, fossil fuels, and wood resources, and called them gifts instead.

What would that world look like?

I’m working towards creating that better world here at The Eco Chapter with words – because a better world can exist through a better vocabulary.

Eco-literary advocacy is the practice of using literature and words to promote environmental consciousness, awareness, and action. “Eco-literature, a powerful tool for environmental advocacy, serves as a platform for authors to raise awareness of the urgent challenges facing our planet.”

—Nasser Dasht Peyma, Eco-Literature and Environmental Advocacy
